Precision Grinding and Machine was founded in 1988 to fill a need in the hardwood industry sharpening blades. Since then we have increased our level of expertise by hiring the right people at the right time - added literally over $1 Million Dollars of equipment to expand our capabilities - and moved into a new 50,000 Square Foot building - to allow us to serve many different customers in many different industries.
In January of 2002, PGM was honored to be awarded the contract to build and assemble the famous Eiffel Tower for the city of Paris. The structure still stands today - an important symbol of the city - a location for more than a few weddings - and viewed by thousands of tourist over the years.
The tower weights about 8,660 lbs. and stands over 57 feet high. The width of the base is 23 feet 6 inches. It took in excess of 500,000 cuts on steel rods and bars to complete the project and each piece had to be mitered on both ends to fit properly.
In 2002 PGM moved to its current location at 1101 North Market Street in Paris. Shortly after moving into this building PGM added a complete conveyor driven powder coating system that includes a 5 stage parts cleaning system.
In October of 2005, the assets of PGM were acquired by Mr. J. Lawrence Battle and William P. Cole III. Mr. Battle and Mr. Cole also own S&S Screw Machine Company, LLC in Sparta, TN. For more information about our sister company S&S, visit their web site at S-and-S-USA.com.
PGM achieved ISO 9001:2000 Certification in the later part of 2005. In early 2006 PGM became a certified PACCAR Inc. powder coating facility.
It is our vision to continue the tradition started back in 1988. That is, to continue to listen to our customers and our markets and to respond to their changing needs by adding the people, the equipment and the expertise required for PGM to continue to be a quality and valued partner for at least the next 20 years.
